This forum seems to be dying a slow drawn out death.
In an effort to regain some interest, I am asking what kind of mileage are you getting with your Cobalt ?

Here is a picture of my fuel economy gauge, this isn’t a fluke, the mileage is repeatable.
It is approx. 6 miles of city stop signal to stop signal in traffic then highway morning early rush traffic for about 23 miles. I use the cruise control set at about 63 MPH on two different highways on low rising & down grades heading up to just the start of the foothills West of Denver.
This is on a 2007 Cobalt LT Coupe, auto trans., and it is a year too old to be a XFE Cobalt, that didn’t come out until 2008.

I've been gone for a few months because the timing chain broke right before 250K.

95% city stop and go driving, UberEATS and DoorDash deliveries, 2.2/auto '08, was sitting on 23.8mpg.

Currently running a 2008 3.9L Uplander with 257K getting 13mpg all city. I was getting 17-18 city doing my deliveries in Ohio. It really needs a set of plugs and injectors And even then the EPA city rating is only 16 so I don't expect it to get much better but I would be happy if I could get back to the 17-18 I was getting .

I will say the trip from Ohio to Oklahoma loaded down with 1100 pounds of kids and crap saw an average of 25.5. Though it was more like 28 on the flat lands of Ohio Indiana and Illinois and dropped to 23 for the Ozarks across Missouri and stayed low because the speed limit in Oklahoma is 75.

Running through those mountains lugging the engine up every hill is what I think did the plugs in because they're probably original to the van.

I use 'MPG INST' to show/indicate current running MPG to watch how it changes on the freeways on level, going down grades, and going up grades. Level always shows 34-39, down grades up to 46, up grades 26-30. I don't watch it all in city driving.

I only wish I had the instantaneous feature in the van. Maybe the upper trim levels got that but this is a basic van and it shows me an average mpg, average speed, range for the fuel tank, and that's about it.
