05/06 transmission

says that only 05 will work for 05

is it how it bolts up, or the harness etc

If I have an 06 engine/ trans unit will it bolt into the 05 cobalt LS (2.2 liter) and harness up.

What made the 05 different.

Basically I have looked for 05 transmission, no luck, and wreckers and mechanics.say 06 will not work on 05 engine..was wondering why, if it's totally different unit, the harness, bolt pattern whatever the reason was..

So I can obtain a 06 engine and trans unit and was wondering if it all marries up to the 05 in regards to harness etc, and bolting in, or if harness etc is going to be a problem..

wouldnt want anyone to think I was being cryptic or have to read my mind

Then again by the time the next snob remark comes in, I'll be driving something else...
