yes you can chip a 2.2, quite easy to do aswell....drain your oil, start the engine, let it run for a bit, you'll eventually start to hear clicking noises...than your engine will idle funny, but you can bet your ass you chipped something :p remove the head and hope you dropped a valve and chipped the piston ;) and yes, this will cause some extensive damage when you chip your l61...depending on what you chip :p a chip in the head...may just throw a rod thru the block...that'll really do some damage.

but in all seriousness...no, the ECM cannot be "chipped"...it can be tuned, but not chipped, and depending on the year cobalt you drive, you have 1-2 options

cause hptuners doenst support 06 cobalts. and from wat im bein told they dont even support 2.2's

and trifecta is a comany and a guy named vince works there and tunes cars. all of us 2.2 guys have his tune seein as hes the only one we can turn to. and other SS's have his tunes as well. when goin thru trifecta you basically datalog the information, unless you leave in or around washington state to where you can go to the shop and get dyno tuned. either way you basically record wat you computer is puttin out, e-mail it to him, he makes his tweaks, e-mails it back and you load it back onto your computer and you repeat this process til you are satisfied

trifecta performance is your only option at tuning
