as I release the steering wheel I get a rattle/click from the steering column, from what I can tell the little plastic gear in the power steering is probably shot. Does anyone know how I can make it stop? Even if that means I won’t have power steering. I have no money to spend at the dealer on this

Update: just went out and checked voltage, it's down to 11. Something, this is the second battery I've gone through. What's killing the battery?

it started out with clicking when I try to start it, so I charged the battery and now whenever I turn it over, it cranks for a second then does nothing, no sound or anything. Anybody know what's going on here? Batteries pretty new
