06 Cobalt LS, No Crank No Start and Weird Electrical Issues
Re check all the grounds. Test for + AND - at the coil module. Look at the grounds all clustered together at the fron of engine. You may need to add a ground to ECM aluminum case, internet states jump starting a Cobalt fries the internal ground. fyi, I'm trying to sell mine before IT craps out!- Dennis Schiller

Cobalt 2006 NO START after removal of ecm
I had a bad ground connection to the top of the valve cover, coil connector. It will not start without it. I originally checked for + voltage by connecting pin to voltmeter and voltmeter to battery ground, so I though the coil connector was not a problem. Electrical issue. Banging my head
Check for good ground connections at front of engine. The wire bundle has around 6 ground wires connected to a bolt. ANyone of them corroded will drive mechanics bonkers because they focus on codes and sensors.- Dennis Schiller

Check engine light (AGAIN!!#)
My 2003 took 6 years to figure it out. I struggled with this. As it turned out, the purge valve on top of the engine apparently stops working properly after a year. Car won’t start
Try adding a temporary ground wire from metal housing of the ECM to ground. Also, what year Cobalt? If it has the ignition pack on top of valve cover, check for a good ground and positive 12 volts in the harness.- Dennis Schiller

Brake Issues
You need to look for leaks everywhere, not just at the wheels. Get the car up into the air a bit so you can look underneath while someone pumps the brakes. OP may have moved on... My 2006 has had the code for 5 years now. Been to more than one garage and I try to figure it out every spring. I'm convinced now it is the ECM.
