I need help. Wiring a JVC KD-R670 in my brother's '07 Cobalt LT. Wanted to keep RAP so I hard wired the PAC harness and all wires other than radio illumination wire, can't figure out where to connect the illumination wire from the deck. I've gone over everything a dozen times, checked resistance on speaker wires to make sure nothing is shorting, and wired everything according to the pinout for the PAC harness and wiring diagram for this car. I've tried the grey illumination wire in the Cobalt pinout and I get nothing. That wire tests no power with key off and 14.2 volts with car running. The only thing I can think of is something is fried in the deck (already had it turned on showing miswiring error).

I'm at the point of rage because I can't get this stupid thing to work. Someone please help.

Does the illumination wire work when you test it against whatever it's looking for? I believe it's supposed to get voltage, but you'd have to check the manual for that. It's a surefire way to figure out if it's broken.
