Car: 2008 Cobalt 2.2 LT 125k miles. So my daughter reported an issue and I took her car for a ride and figured it was a wheel bearing since it sounded like a airplane in the car. Got the car up on jackstands and while turning the wheels by hand it was more a squeak than I thought. Almost like the rotor was rubbing after a recent break job. I removed the caliper/rotor and turned by hand. Squeak was still there but the deal is that this noise is coming from up by the CV boot at the transmission. Boots looks fine, no sign of leakage or any damage. Rotating them backwards produces no noise whatsoever. Not sure what I am dealing with here at this point. Any advice?
