Hi, I am trying to replace the trunk light in my 09 cobalt that was missing after I purchased the vehicle used. It seems that all that is left is the little black connector that is wired to the harness. Could I possibly just connect the leads on a new bulb to this connector? Or do I need to find the little plastic piece that connects the bulb to the harness connector?

Thank you!

You don’t have the clear lens on the upper inner lip ? You need to look at someone else’s Cobalt to see what exactly what you have or don’t have. Then scrounge the local salvage yards to get the parts to complete your trunk light assembly.
Then put an LED bulb in it, they are so much more bright than the incandescent bulbs.

This is the whole assembly that you are looking for.
