What is this called? 2007 Cobalt SS/SC

Curious to know if this gets removed and put back on will it effect anything I took it off thinking it was something else engine light came on....will it reset itself?? Car had a hard time turning on the first couple times starts up fine now.

Which part are you talking about exactly? The picture shows a wire loom that has its mounting point removed. Which is somewhere near the back of the motor near the end of the intake cam.
