Where is fuel filter on 2010 LT?

Dealer wants $96 to replace fuel filter, says he'll have to drop
the gas tank to get to it. Meinecke repair shop looked up my vehicle and
said the filter is in front of it so no need to drop tank. Who's right?

It depends on which filter. There's a coarse sock on the end of the fuel filter, can only replace by swapping out the pump. Or there is an inline one in front of the tank that you can change on a pair of ramps without dropping the tank.

The one that is usually changed is the one in front of the tank, you can do it yourself for cheap and it's pretty easy.

Thank you kindly! Do I need to replace the coarse sock one ever or just the inline one at front of tank?

I won't say never, but the pump usually out lives the sock.
