Hello, this is my first time on the forums but I thought I'd ask some questions about the Cobalt. So in my area, there is a 2007 SC and a 2008 TC cobalt. Both have 130k miles (2008 132k) and are in decent condition. I'm still going to try and get the VIN for the cars but the bigger question is insurance. I know with insurance that if a car is super or turbocharged it can skyrocket. I'm looking for a fun car that won't kill me and that is also reliable, I am 16 yrs of age and I was wondering if anyone can share any quotes for their cobalt. It would be very helpful and I hope everyone has a great day!

I have an 07 cobalt SS 2,4 NOT turbocharged. I have 315,000 miles and still firing factory spark plugs. Most reliable vehicle I have ever owned. I am 55 yo. so I have owned many.
    Avoid the turbo.

I have a 2008 cobalt 2.2l LS, base model non turbo, it has 326,000 miles still with factory clutch, spark plugs, coil packs, and antifreeze. I have replace the brakes at 250K, the shocks and struts at 300k, the front hubs at 310k and the fuel pump at 100k but that was a recall. that is all I have done to this car. I put about 35k a year on this car, I change the oil 2 times a year if it needs it or not and put tires on every other year. that's it. most reliable vehicle I ever owned as well. It out lived my ford diesel by 150k so far and still going. oh I did try to clean the throttle body once at 250k to be nice, it did not like me for doing that. It took about 3 months to relearn where it needs to idle, it would idle at 3000 rpm.
Also I am 45 yo and the cobalt costs more than our Suburban to insure by about $20.00 its a small 2 door- guess tha'ts why.
    just my $ .02
