Temp and A/C Issues....

Hi, I have a couple issues going on with my car and wanted to see if anyone else had similar problems.

Problem 1) My outside temp reading last night was 103F and looks like it was stuck, This morning it read 105F. I read another forum that it was his sensor but the way the system works to indicate the temp. I don't think it's suppose to read 103F at 10:00 PM so I don't know what to think. Anyone else have this issue??

Problem 2) My A/C was acting weird. It will not blow cold air while the car is stopped but will work like normal once the car is moving. This happened yesterday too and every once in a while the A/C won't work at all. The coolant reading will be --- but sometimes while driving will start to work again. I already changed the Temp Sensor a few weeks back. Anyone went thru this problem on their Cobalt??

I know people will say take to a mechanic but as we all know they are expensive and if it's something simple that I can fix myself I'll give it a try. The A/C issue has been driving me nuts cause I don't know what is causing it. I thought that maybe the Coolant Level sensor is bad but dealer says it's part of the reservoir bottle for which I don't see it just looks like a plastic water bottle tank lol. Any help is much appreciated. My car info is on my signature.

Thanks

replace both your ambient temp sensor and your coolant temp sensor. your car goes into a safe mode when your coolant temp sensor goes out and that's probably why it wouldn't work

I already replaced the coolant Temp sensor a few weeks ago though. Those ambient tempt sensors i'm not too sure if they are bad or not. A mechanic mentioned the Coolant Level Sensor but I don't see it on the coolant reservoir bottle that the dealer says it comes with. But thanks for the suggestion i'll check out the prices on those ambient sensors.

i had to replace my coolant temp sensor twice in a month. get an ac delco one if you didn't, that could've been the mistake. you COULD just take out the ambient temp sensor. it doesn't do anything other than tell you the temp. but you obviously know if it's hot or cold outside i'm sure. coolant level sensor would throw your coolant light on, not have anything to do with your temp sensor. that sensor, though, is on the bottom of the resevoir i believe.

The coolant temp sensor was an A/C delco brand. I would hope it didn't go bad again. I checked into the Ambient sensor GM# 25775833 and looks like the Cobalt only takes 1 from what I see and located right behind the left headlamp. Their cheap like $6 bucks so I'm going to just get it and change it out. If this doesn't work then i'll replace the temp coolant sensor again.

ambient air temp is not connected to anything else. that wouldn't be your issue. i haven't had an ambient air temp sensor in over a year

Changed the Ambient sensor and still gets weird readings. The sensor was cheap so I changed it for the hell of it but I'm not going to worry about that anymore. I unplugged it and just like you said it doesn't do anything for the car. I'm just going to take it to a mechanic when I get a chance to see what is wrong with it. At least it works somewhat when driving so my wife won't be suffering all that bad lol.

Well the Coolant temp reached 234 today. I'm thinking the Thermostat might be bad. The tank has fluids in it.
