Well, figured I might as well introduce myself here after looking around the site for a bit. I'm from Canada, as you can tell from the title of this thread, more specifically the Maritimes (Moncton, New Brunswick). I have an 08 Cobalt LS coupe, black, and with a 5spd. It's my first car and I'm loving it so far. Only mod done to it so far, if you can even call it a mod, is to remove the intake silencer. Future plans include Pedders springs, FE5 struts/shocks, catback, an aluminum intake pipe, stiffer engine and transmission mounts and 17's. Anyways, here's a couple pics.

Welcome! Sounds like you've got a good upgrade path planned out.

Thanks man, I'll probably add a header and downpipe to the list, but to be honest, I feel it has enough power as is, if I wanted more I'd just get an SS/TC. I'd just like to focus on the ride and handling of it.
lol love the username!
Haha, thanks man, I've used it on a bunch of forums I'm on, figured I might as well continue the tradition.

You can pickup a used SS/SC header and downpipe for a song these days, decent combo. Add a tune to your list, that little motor is quite peppy once Power Enrichment Delay is turned off.

The one's I've seen have been pretty decently priced, I just have to finish paying the car off before I do anything to it. Also, if I'm going to tune it, I might as well get a 2.4 intake and TB for it. Luckily for me, a guy just 5 minutes or so down the road from me does tuning for cars.

Welcome Mr. Bacon. Post often and enjoy your stay.
Thank you, I'll try to stay on my best behaviour :D

The 2.4 throttle body isn't a huge upgrade and idle is wonky. The intake manifold is nice though.

Oh okay. Pretty much everything I've seen about that so far has been get the 2.4 tb if you get the intake. The tune you spoke of earlier, that will get rid of the delay with the throttle it currently has, correct?

Edit: Would I need to get a tune done anyways if I did get a 2.4 intake on there?

I forget exactly how the PE delay is turned off but a tune will take care of it, just be sure to ask for it at the time of tuning. Basically when you punch it the computer has a built in wait time for full throttle to save on gas, makes the pedal fell disconnected.

You don't "need" a tune to install a 2.4 manifold, but to really take advantage of it you will. Also you might need an adapter plate to go between the 2.4 manifold and 2.2 TB, I can't remember what the year split was on that, some needed an adapter, others didn't. I think I still have a template around here somewhere if you need one made.
