Your idea is still fail man, The reason why there are base models with nothing in them is so they can sell the car for cheap, load it with more options and the poorer population cant afford it....And your claim to put less power for cost is just thinking backwards...

agree'd.

in the long run whatever you (not you tom) think will not change anything. they need to sell base versions of the car so they can sell. otherwise people can't afford them. some people wish they could buy a 335i but can't afford it so they buy the 328i. it's a really basic concept to understand. it's like i own a supercharged cobalt right now and didn't know in 2008 the turbo cobalt would come out but now that it has i should sell my car ASAP to buy the turbo cobalt because it is better in every aspect. just doesn't make sense do you understand where i am coming from???

hell it's like saying why buy the cobalt when you can buy a used c5 z06 instead???

idk in the long run it's too many options now a days. too many cars. too many colors. it's nice but all this is just giving me a headache. i gotta wake up in the morning and i am already hung over. i am out. see you guys in the morning.

^^^Made my point for me right there

I almost ended up with the ss/sc myself but it would have still been at half the cost of the SS/TC, there was no point in a brand new ss/sc when a used one with low km still have warranty and even a few upgrades i wanted. U obviously went brand new with your ss/sc, it's the same situation I am in now, I know there is better cars than my ss/tc and i could trade in my ss/tc and get something better but that's not the point, I was talking about GM making so many different models and spreading themselves so thin. The cobalt was not GM's base model so why make it so fucking cheep? They had their "cheep" car already with the Aveo.

The problem with a system like what GM has been using is that the cars are POS and break down and end up in junk yards. For a company image that is horrific, you want your cars on the road forever so that ppl who have money buy new and ppl who don't buy used but still get a GOOD PRODUCT, thus making a very strong company image, like Honda and Toyota, even Nissan, Hyundai, Kia. People buying used mostly buy imports because they are proven more reliable, GM's are bought brand new for dirt cheep and don't last....that is once again, a HORRIFIC company image to have, they have taken the necessary steps to change that with recent changes but they still keep holding on for dear life to their "SELL SELL SELL" idea that put them in the hole their in today........when they let go, we will get a 2dr and 4dr AWD LNF, they will have the cruze as their base model, then malibu, then impala, performance will be maybe a Cobalt comback or just a new name altogether, then camaro, vette. GM has spread so thin that if they don't consider cutting more of the "fat" they WILL die. The Cruze replaces the Cobalt but it should also be taking the place of GM's BASE model, that would make a BOLD statement that GM has a commitment to quality and being the BEST. Sadly GM is going to throw away this opportunity and make that POS spark or w/e they end up doing. Even Toyota sunk to a new low with the yaris, for years their base model was the corolla and they should have left it that way, they cheeped out, so did Honda, Nissan........:( everyone decided to cheep out and quit making quality that ppl would later buy used just to make some quick cash off POS cars...........shame on just about EVERY automaker......VW/Audi saved face :) happy for them there, BMW made a smart move with the 128/135, they have needed something below the 3 series for years. BMW could even make a 4dr 1 series for a little cheeper than the 128 and still make a decent amount of money off it. Benz was smart about their new base model tho it should have been a straight up sedan not the POS body style they used and it needed to be a little cheeper pricewise. Alright I'm gunna stop here, i've gone far enough and if your still not on my side so be it, we agree to disagree.

^i agree that if i was going to look for a used car right now it would be a toyota, my sister is in a 2000 model camry with 250000 miles on it and runs perfectly smooth only minor upkeep oil changes and what not...although i bought my cobalt with 32000 miles on it and now have over77000 miles and no problems alot of that has partially to do with the way people drive the cars take that retard that ran all that nitrous through his rental and blew the motor

I would say that most of the drivetrain on the delta's were built to last a decent amount of mileage, much more so that previous models, time will tell.....

i give you that GM went plain retarded on the interior save the seats the ss models are not all that much nicer than the base models
I actually like the plain interior, and the seats in my SS/TC are a hell of an improvement over the ones I had in my LT.

i think our interior is garbage, my 2003 Hyundai had better interior than my 2009 Cobalt........wtf? Now, the seats are great, GM do some good work there, BUT they failed to back it up with an equally nice remaining interior........headliner is headliner it's ok no big deal there but the dash is horrific for being 2009 when my 2003 Hyundai has a nicer interior.
