    Clutch master cylinder

i went to bleed my clutch and it wasn't working, so i took my master cylinder out and saw that there is a little ball in the supply tube, and i am assuming that the ball acts as a check valve, but it is not opening or letting fluid in. i'd rather not buy a new master cylinder, can anyone help out?
