'05 cobalt LT - Reduced engine power

It's happened twice now that when I go to pass someone my car loses power, I get a check engine light and the reduced engine power error comes up on my cars dash....
It's been so cold recently that when I wake up in the morning the code is cleared from the computer so I can't even get it checked ...
Any ideas of what it could be?
