Hello, I have a 07 2.2 Cobalt LS coupe 5 speed, and I'm looking into cold air intakes. I was wondering if it would be a good idea to dremel out the fake vents on either side of the bumper to make them functional. Then I would install my intake with a longer tube and set the end of the filter behind the now functional vent to get fresh cold air from the wind. I know that the point of the cold air intake is to have no bends or corners but i figured that the wind would be powerful enough to push it to the down the tube with some force, would this be too much air?(if there is such a thing) I would like some opinions on this and maybe some problems I would face if there would be any or if I should save myself the trouble and just mount the intake how is should be. Thank you for reading.

If you cut out the closed vents on an LS bumper the most you'll have to worry about is water. Getting wind into that pocket isn't going to get you any real positive air pressure into the tube.
