2.2 replacement

Hello I have a06 cobalt ls Was wondering how hard replacing block and head would be. from what I found so far it's just undoing everything pull from top and doing that process in reverse. it would be pulled from junkyard planned on removing oil pan spark plugs and valve cover to check internals.any other advice on making sure I pull a good motor? And same questions but with auto trans?

Could pull the head to make sure it hasn't flattened the valves.

Well still fairly new to actually doing work did allot of studying and done small jobs which is why I asked if it was just drop it in and hook it back up. How hard is putting the timing chain back on?
