I bought a 2006 cobalt ls with a 2.2 with a bad engine. I found a good engine with low miles for a good price but It doesnt have a place for the check valve on the back of the engine. My question is I live in Nc we have inspections where if you have a check engine light you cant license the car. Now my question is If I install this new engine without the check valve my check engine light will be on. Is that correct?

Your original 2006 engine has a check valve? I thought SAI happened in 2007.

Yes. I can buy another motor with low miles that does not have it though. I like that engine the most but Im not sure if it will set off the check engine.

Does that system interface with the head or block? If it's just the manifolds you can just use yours.
