If you plan on leaving your car COMPLETELY STOCK then a chip is fine.
If you plan on nodding your car with exhaust and air intake and stuff like that then DON'T DO IT!

well as of now its still completey stock. i've been searching up air intakes, exhausts, lowering kits, short throw shifters small things like that all day. I think im gonna go with a Magnaflow exhaust (part#16618). and i havent yet decided which intake to get any suggestions? how about short throw shifters?

Have you ever used one?
Or are you going off of what people with mods say?
Cuz if you're stock it actually has a use.

I can't give you any advice on short throws but I know some of the other people can.

Good luck on your finds.

ive got a K&N Typhoon intake and love it, cant go wrong. But your choice should depend on if you have SAI or not.

Where do they insist that this chip be placed ?
From what I have seen the ECM has to be programmed through the CAN bus. The ECM does not have any socketed eproms to swap out like back in the day - I have already opened one up .

By the way I am in need of an 2008 balt BCM ( body control module ) that someone needs to get rid of - for the sake of learning what is programmed into it .
