Hello. I'm a former mechanic. My wife has a 2009 Chevrolet Cobalt --- LS (I believe, although I know it's not a SS). Automatic transmission.
Just today, she noticed the MIL (CEL) illuminate. In conjunction, she cannot start the car using the Auto-Start on the remote. Nothing extraordinary happened to the car. Regular maintenance has been performed. No modifications to vehicle.
Her bumper-to-bumper warranty just expired. The car has just a bit over 37k miles. So, I told her to take it to AutoZone tomorrow after work and I'll go from there.
In the meantime, I'd thought I'd ask tonight and see if anyone experienced the same problem.
But, I guess I also need to ask this since I'm not really familiar with Chevys (moreso with Hondas).
Is it simply normal for the auto-start to be disabled whenever the CEL illuminates?
Thank you in advance.

Nevermind. Apparently I found the answer:

I'm relieved. Just got to get the code read tomorrow.
