Daughter has a 2010 Cobalt she's had it since new. Yesterday she said, it revved up while trying to keep up with traffic going over the Highrise going to work. Coming home she said, it did the same thing and some clunky shifting thrown in. Today when she was going to work it started normally but it wouldn't back up in reverse. I pushed it out of the driveway so she could borrow my car. Long story short it will drive forward. it works ok in D. However, its wonky when L or I are selected and there is NO reverse.
She said it did shift weird a couple of times yesterday too.
No codes
If I put it in reverse and rev the engine the car will not move. However, in neutral the car will slowly roll backwards due to the slope of my driveway and if I put it in reverse it will quit rolling.
Am I in for a transmission rebuild or is this the foward clutch low or reverse band lube pipe?
The lack of codes and lights make me hopeful that its something I can fix vice taking it to my favorite independent transmission shop.
Thanks so much in advance for your assistance.
