My girlfriend has an 07 cobalt LT. she parked at my house one night and when she went to start her car in the morning it locked the keys in the car by itself. It has happened three times now i've seen it happen so i no its not just her accidently hitting the lock button when she gets out. She even leaves them in the ignition and it still locked. Now her car wont lock even when you push the button. If anyone has any information please let me know i just dont want her to either have the car lock on her or wont lock for her when she is in the city. The remote also wont work now at all.

Sounds like you need a new remote, what about the other remote?

my wifes 06 did the same thing but would also try locking while we would be going down the road . it ended up being the driver side lock button . changed it and everything was fine after . i was thinking mabey a little bit of water got into the button and messed it up . just a note i pulled the fuse to the door locks til i could fix it . she just had to use a key to unlock it
