I have an 06 cobalt LT, that blew a connecting rod. It still runs and drives, although as soon as it was obvious we parked it. It's our only car, and if it wasn't for my wife's mom letting us borrow one of her cars we'd still be renting one so my wife could get to work. I work close to home so it's not an issue for me, but it's my issue when it comes to mone for car rentals .
Here is my problem.
I'm trying to find the cheapest long block I can find with the lowest miles. I have everything still in the chassis. When I look at motors for sale they talk about L61 NU1 air check valves in the exhaust mani and all kinds of stuff I don't know about.
What do I need ? I just need the block and head, will any 06 2.2 work if I strip it and put the parts from my ca edition onto it? Please help us!
