intake suggestions/help

i'm not looking to necessarily "cheap out" i just want to build my own.

and on top of that i'm a poor college student, so there is little income.

That's why I put it in quotations. :)

Cheap, not as in price, but material that is not tested to work.

And it came with its own Air filter, its not too shabby, I bought a 4" K&N filter, have to go to lowe's and get an adapter. the one that comes from JDM is a 3" intake. One thing to keep in mind if u order the JDM parts intake its a pain in the butt to put together. i just installed it today, the flex connectors were harder than crap to connect onto the pipes, and the pipe clamps were too small to go over the connectors, took me like an hour and a half to install this. I deffanitely noticed a difference in performance tho once i started it up, The intake is a bit on the obnoxiously loud side, but once i get the K&N in there it should be aight.

I made my own with spectre parts and painted them black.Ill dig up a pic

here.Only cost me about 40 bucks since my buddy had the piping laying around.8 bucks for a breather filter and 30 for the MAF adapter.
