Options is all, they all have the same motor, transmission, suspension and brakes. Depends on the year.

Ls, lt, ltz

Basically, options and trim levels are the main differences in Cobalt LS, LT and LTZ models. Some features are standard and others are optional depending on the year. Feel free to visit the web pages at the GM media link below and see those differences.

Newbie here too.

Basically, what I found when I went out shopping was...........

the LS was the entry level with crank windows and very limited options

the LT was standard with a/c, pwr windows/locks and whatever else came in the "package".

Haven't seen an LTZ yet.

Personally, I'd look for the 07-08 normally aspirated "SS" that has the slightly larger 2.4 motor. It also has a better front/rear fascia, wheel and lower sill moulding. A cool/unique package.
