Any audio geeks I could use your input on this one.. first of all id like to know what you think the quality of my new door speakers is like...

Diamond D1
Diamond Audio Technologies - D161.5i - 6.5" Coaxial Speakers

Are those any good and will they fit?

My new amp to replace my current amp..

400W RMS which will be power two 12's which put out 200W RMS each.

New amp: Diamond Audio Technologies - DIAMOND 400.1 400 Watt Monoblock Amplifier

to replace my old amp (current subs on this link too)- http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Kenwood...fier/9389173.p?id=1218097994085&skuId=9389173

So for all of this, was it quality choice on products? Will my amp power my subs correctly? Any input appreciated

just be careful with the subs. they cant really handle 400w but the extra power should get them a bit louder. amp and speaker should be golden thou

Shouldn't the subs just about equal out with 200W capable per sub, and the amp putting out 400W dividing into the two? And the diamond amp cost me 200$ on sale from 300$, and the speakers came with that party pack I posted from best buy

emperorjj1 do you have any past experience with diamond audio? Good quality or not so much? Judging by the costs I figured they would be =p

its good stuff man. ive had alot of experience with the amps and done maybe one or 2 setups with the subs. overall good stuff. as far as the power goes i forgot the party pack is 8 ohm. so at 4 ohms you should be fine. 150w is probably the most id say those subs could actually handle if that.

same way kenwood rates the party pack amp at 350 peak watts... the only problem is peak is pretty much a made up number. it used to be double rms and actualy signify peak power but in reality now its just whatever the company wants to use to sell the product. stamp it right on the cone of the sub or heatsink of the amp that way people see it and buy regardless of the truth

It can be whatever they want, the only true number is watt RMS. Emperor is right, the party pack I bought they said 350W on my amp, which is actually truly around 50W RMS, hence the new amp. It must say XXX watt RMS on it for the watts to be a true number.

ya they say 800watt 1000 w peak power ....... your saying it dont even hit 800w?

no 800watt RMS means that thats the most watts the sub can handle from a steady flow.

1000w peak power is how much the sub can handle for a split second, for example: a Rim shot from a snare drum.

If my speakers are 200W RMS each, how will that work out with my 400W RMS amp?
