K&N is great, I got a SRI/CAI combo from Ingen that I love. Living in Seattle I cant run on a CAI all the time because of all the damn water. :)
I also got the Tsudo exahust. Not Ricey and affordable.

Cheesy drive with the Tsudo on and windows closed.

Gratz on the Cobalt!!!

you can install a system on a stock head unit.. you need a line out conveter. basically u hook the line out converter to the stock rear speakers then hook the line out converter to the amp..

this is what it looks like. you can buy them at best buy

Not sure if you can just get the muffler alone. BUt trust me, the exhaust replacement we sooooo easy, one of the easiest mods I've done on my car.
Also you can get your car tuned. Try Trifecta, they are good.

sounds right and the panels are clips...you juss put out where u feel the clip is....pull hard...its gonna be kinda scary because it feels like your gonna snapp it but the clips pop right out

that should be fine .... the only thing u want from the wire is to cut the power on and off when you get in and out...so u dont drain the battery
