P0300 code! Help

Alright, well i have a p0300 code and my cel light is on and i can hear a misfire through the exhaust. What have done to this car is OTT Stage 2, which includes 60 lbs injectors, ott tune, 2.8 pulley, step colder plugs, cai, centerforce dual friction clutch, zzp s3 heat exchanger. OTT told me that it could be the plugs or the injectors. A couple days ago i pulled the plugs and they were black on the bottom. I called Hitech motorsports and asked them what could be wrong and he said it could be something with the tune. I ordered a scanner a couple days ago as well. I really need to figure out what is wrong here before i want to get it back out on the roads. Also, i have a air fuel gauge and the numbers are bouncing up and down and ott says that is normal for that because of safety precautions. Any help from you guys would be greatly appreciated.

I assume your AFR gauge is a wideband?

If so, what does it read at WOT?

Yeah its is wideband.
When my buddy was looking at it, it said between 10.9 and 11.1.

Yeah thats what i think, and then i called OTTP and they told me that they have there tune made richer for safety precautions or something like that.

Thats what i am thinking about, but a custom tune is $550 and i kinda dont want to go that way but if i have to i will.

thats not really that rich... should be low 11 high 10 range wot. stop using boxed tunes! every car is different, you need to have someone tune you with hptuners and data log you until it's right. or get dyno tuned.

550 is ridiculous. should be about 200 since it's like 50 bucks to license the vin with hptuners. the rest is up to the tuner.

Yeah thats what my buddy says to do, its just really expensive for a custom tune.

btw, just change the plugs. those 60's pump a lot of fuel man. i went through plugs every 10k or so with the 60's.

But those plugs are brand new, just have about 100 miles on them. Yeah i bet the sure do.

oh ok you didn't mention that. hows your air filter look? catted or catless? use any injector cleaners recently? i think p0420 would go off if it were o2 sensor issues. could be so many things. i'm assuming you don't have access to fuel pressure/vac testers or anything like that?

Sorry about not saying that. Air filter was cleaned when i put everything back together. Catted, No the injectors are brand new as well(sorry for not saying that again). I could get one from friend if possible.

i'm reading that it's often an ICM
that sounds about right to me considering your plugs are shot.
my personal guess is that the tune, after your pcm re-learned, is not working very well for the car. this is assuming you just bought this ottp kit 100 miles ago.

So could it be the tune?
So, when OTT sent me the performance upgrades they sent me back plugs? That doesnt seem right to me tho. So, basically what i am getting at is that i need to buy new plugs just after having 100 miles on them?

OTTP says its not the tune you either have bad plugs or bad injectors, I personally dont like to deal with them and they keep telling me to check the plugs and the injectors again. So i dont know what to do with them.

And yeah i just finally finished it up and took it for a drive this weekend.

this is a tricky subject. ive never gotten bad plugs that are new before ever. if the injectors are clogging then howd the plugs get all black from fuel? if theyre clogged wouldn't the plugs turn white like a lean mixture? wish maven was here lol

But i called ott just a couple mins ago and he was like lets do this, send your pcm out to us and we will tweak it for you and get it back to you as soon as possible. At least they are doing that and hopefully this will take care of the problem.

good, they are good guys over there as far as i know. i'm sure everything will get sorted out.
