Hi im new to this site, i have a quick question about my car.

its a 08 chevy cobalt sport. what year ss parts will fit on my car without causing issues.

I know the 2.4 throttle body will fit
And some other 2.4 parts will, idk about anything else.
Someone else will know.

thanks man i also got the olympic white, ya ik they made the sport only one year 2008 and its upgraded since the regulars but a step lower than the ss. so if anyone else knows what will fit i would greatly appreciate it.


also ive been looking around does anyone know how many sports were made? ive never seen one other than mine? thats just a curiousity

all the 2.4 parts are already in his car... because his IS a 2.4... he's talking about ss/sc or tc.

^that.

The 2008 Sport IS an SS, they just gave it a different badge for that year. Came with everything the 2.4 SS/NA came with, FE3 suspension, LE5 motor, middle road ground effects.

It's a SS "sport" as you said. Nothing against you, but its nothing special lol

Yeah, its the lower level SS in 06 and 07. Different body kit, suspension and motor than the SS supercharged and turbocharged. All in all though its a stout little car with a decent setup. The VVT and gen2 block make it a great motor for higher HP, though the ECU isn't quite sure what to do with boost.

so do you think i should get an after market ECU im also thinking of getting an aftermark intake and any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. somthing that will do the trick but not burn a hole in my pocket either?

Aftermarket ecu wtf? Don't worry about tuning unless youre fully bolted.

idk i put one on my old car Volvo s70 T5, i put an upgraded ECU i figured they had them for cobalt

there is no aftermarket ECU unless you change the aspiration of your car and get it through zzp or another well known company who does custom tuning on ecu's they have in stock. if you're planning on going fully bolted and then tuned, i would suggest you find an HP tuner around your area to tune your car. otherwise, talk to vince at trifecta performance and he will give you a box tune
