We had a code for the the thermostat coolant not at specified temp. I just unhooked the battery and reset it now the check engine light doesnt come on. I still want to replace the thermostat since we are driving to fl next week.where is the thermostat located on the engine? Its a 2006 Cobalt LS 2.2 4cyl

any help would be great.

Thanks
Nick

IIRC that's just an unscrew on the passenger side. Alternatively you can pull the lower coolant hose at the radiator.

You might have to pull some tricks out of your bag to get it off, but yeah apparently it's just a simple unscrew job. Just in a tough location and an odd "screw". Frustrated me quite a bit.
