Transmission Problem code

The transmission on my gf started acting up today & the check engine light came up.
Two codes came up: P0700 transmission malfunction & P0756 transmission stuck solenoid.
I've read the p0700 is the cobalt transmission death code. The p0756 might be a bad control solenoid.
Any help would be much appreciated.

It's a 2006 cobalt 2.2l auto.

Considering that is his only post and it was way back in 2011 February. I don't think he's around anymore.

Too bad. More folks reporting on a problem the better chance of finding it. If what was found is reported.

I Have an 08, that stays in second gear for a long period of time when it is cold, then works fine after that. How do we check the fluid level on these?
