What would be the best way to lower My 06 Cobalt LT on a budget? I would like to drop it 2" - 3". Any help would be appreciated. Thanks - Tyler

I have Sportlines and here goes a quick pic. I have to search for a better one though but this gives you an idea:

But if you have a LS or LT then the drop might not be that aggressive. You would have to buy SS Struts.

WOW that is a nice drop! does anyone have a pic of those springs and struts on an LT Sedan?

Thanks!

Google does. Not to be a prick, but do some if your own research. The LT Sedan will be roughly the same distance from the ground, your bumpers are different so a little more clearance on all sides for the body.

how does it ride with the Sportline kit? And if I'm understanding what you're saying I would need the SS struts to have a more aggressive drop?

any lowering springs is going to take the comfortable feel of a car. you will need ss struts and shocks in order for your car to not sag like an 80 year old woman's tits

Your stock struts will wear out quickly since they aren't meant to run that low, ss struts handle it better but will die sooner than normal too. Best solution is a set of Konis since they are designed to be run on lowered vehicles.

just a heads up a lot of the distributors are out of Koni shocks so you may want to call them before ordering online to make sure they have them in stock.

Here's a less abrasive comment, there's a sticky in the suspension section that has a better chance of helping you than the currently online people can.

Drop comparisons. - Chevy Cobalt Forum - Cobalt SS | Cruze | Saturn ION | Pontiac G5 Forum
Thank you. Do you have any clearance problems? (speed bumps, railroad tracks, driveways, etc.. ?

bumpers scrape on steep inclines but thats why you take it at angles and my exhaust hangs low because thats how its made and its fine.

So you didnt swap out struts? Do you have any sagging problems? Seems like most say u should get ss or konis if u lower.

Thanks.
