2008 Cobalt LS Dead in a parking lot!! Not getting fuel? (Emergency)

After all I've tried, I figured out two things: 1) I burned up my SECOND fuel pump in a few months. 2) I bought a Cobalt Since I got the pump replaced....AGAIN, I'll be repairing the 2nd problem asap.

The cooling problem is done. It was low. See my newest thread for my latest and most serious issue.

2008 Cobalt LS Dead in a parking lot!! Not getting fuel? (Emergency)

I drove 20 miles to work Friday. The car ran fine. I go to leave work, and it just cranks....cranks.....cranks, sputters maybe once every 5-10 tries and..nothing. I checked power to the fuel pump fuse and it's good. I ran my fuel tank low a few times in a few weeks, so I thought I burned my fuel...

2008 LS getting a little warm?

One thing I did remember was that when I did all that work, I kept having to remove and replace the coolant. I ran short because of a spill, so I just put whatever I could back into the system. When it's sitting cold after not running for a while, the level in my reservoir is all the way at the...

2008 LS getting a little warm?

I tested the thermostat in water when I did the water pump and it opened as it should have. The fan (I only have one) kicks on around 220°. Whether it's in high mode, I don't know. I had the catalytic converter replaced. It drives SO much better, but it still gets warm, mainly when idling or...

2008 LS getting a little warm?

Per my previous threads, I recently did A LOT of work to it. But in case you didn't feel like visiting those threads: 1) replaced heater core 2) replaced head gasket 3) replaced water pump 4) replaced timing chain during the head gasket change 5) even replaced the coolant reservoir cap 6)...

Thank you! And thanks for your suggestions.

Fuel Rail issue - erratic idling/stalling

Alright. My parts came in. I ordered injectors AND the insulators. I know exactly what happened now. I don't believe it was the injectors, but whatever, it has new ones now. Lol. When I would try to put the old insulators back in, they would just kinda sit in the injector cups. They were too...

Fuel Rail issue - erratic idling/stalling

Ok, I realized these are the injector insulators. I'm nervous about this because it's night time and I can't get any parts right now. I hope it's safe to drive because I have 20 miles to work in the morning. I just don't understand why it's leaking. I can't see any fuel residue around the...

Fuel Rail issue - erratic idling/stalling

Ok. I got the new o-rings, but it's still hissing. What are the little plastic cups that slide over the end of the injector (bottom end)? I remember when I first pulled the fuel rail out, it took some effort. Now it seems to just kinda sit in the cup, which has to be the reason I'm hearing the...

Fuel Rail issue - erratic idling/stalling

It's a 2008/2.2L. It has to be an o-ring because when I move it around, it stops when it reaches a certain position. I actually left one bolt out because fully tightening them actually made it worse. I called autozone. The o-ring (upper and lower) kit is under $10. I'll change them out and...

Fuel Rail issue - erratic idling/stalling

I recently did a bunch of work to my Cobalt, which involved removing the fuel rail. I fixed all of my problems, but my idle went downhill. I heard a hissing noise coming from around the intake (so I thought), so I removed the throttle body and intake manifold to check out the o-rings (which were...

    2008 Cobalt overheating

I went ahead and removed the exhaust manifold (all the nuts were freed up since I replaced the head gasket) since I had the time and wanted plenty of room. I pulled the water pump, but strangely didn't see anything out of the ordinary, however, when I inspected the impeller by turning it, a...

    2008 Cobalt overheating

Ok, I made up a method to try and see if coolant is flowing through the radiator. I removed the lower hose at the thermostat, and removed the upper hose at the head. I put a trash bag over the opening at the lower hose, and blew through the upper hose. Coolant came right out. Theoretically...

    2008 Cobalt overheating

Would you happen to know where the heater control valve is located on this engine?

    2008 Cobalt overheating

I wouldn't say floppy. I'm able to squeeze it if that's relevant.

    2008 Cobalt overheating

No. Upper is warm, lower is not.

    2008 Cobalt overheating

Without knowing if the temp sensor is faulty (I'm assuming right now it's ok), and not knowing if there is a restriction in my radiator, it's leading me to step 21, the water pump.

    2008 Cobalt overheating

Ok. I was looking in my Haynes manual and it shows a fabricated tool with guide bolts. I need this fast, and a Google search actually showed Walmart to have it (weird since AutoZone, O'Reillys, and Advance didn't have it). Gonna snag a ride asap and see if I can find it. If not, then I'm...

    2008 Cobalt overheating

I saw the link for the tool. Right now I'm trying to search for what size all-threads I'll need for guide bolts.

    2008 Cobalt overheating

The expansion tank did refill super fast and nearly overflowed, so I immediately put the cap back on.

    2008 Cobalt overheating

What sucks is that I can't even take the water pump off until I have the GM tool. I'd make one, but I don't have any flat stock or a drill.

    2008 Cobalt overheating

I don't think it can be installed backwards either. It wasn't insulting at all to mention that. It's a simple mistake. But yes, it's installed just like the diagram shows. When I had the front cover off, the balance shaft chains appeared to be correctly on the water pump sprocket. I touched...
