that plug just plugs the bung so more exhaust doesnt escape. only way to not toss a CEL is to delete the sensor via tunning.

id recommend not going catless on a LSJ. sounds like shit

agree'd, i would get a 3inch downpipe with highflow cats and a nice 3inch exhaust if u don't already. With tuning you can gain a little extra punch and still retain a fairly quiet exhaust that sounds mean as hell.

Revival of dead threads, lol.

I still haven't done it yet... but I'm gonna next month. Thanks for all the advice and vids, peeps

u won't like it, it doesn't sound right on the LSJ and me thinks u will regret it, maybe not at first, but eventually........

Well, if it sounds like ass, I'll just have to get the hubz to get me a high flow cat next year for Valentine's :D

dun do it, get the GMPP touring catback, this is my buddies LSJ stage 2 with the GMPP touring catback and an Injen intake, it's plenty loud when he stands on it. Make the hubz get u that exhaust AND a DP with highflow cat :D

Either way going catless or with a hi-flow, you are going to get the P0420 code and it will set off the CEL. IF your going for just plain power you wouldn't even have a muffler it would be straight piping from the header back.
A 3" exhaust isn't really necessary until your making good into 300whp. 3" DP to a 2.5" exhaust will help up until then. Getting a good header will deepen the exhaust tone no matter what catback you use.

But I ain't getting a DP & exhaust AND a stage 2 kit for Christmas... I set us a budget of <$600 each. Flexpipe for a cat delete is just a few bucks, anyway, lmao.

And the cat delete is just simply because I hate emission controls... AL doesn't have any, so I don't want it on any of my cars, haha. & if I get the stage 2 for Christmas, I'll have the guys make it to where the code won't be thrown (they ask if you have a cat or not). Unless I've been misinformed...

Get the stage kit (more power gain than any exhaust component by itself) if its an aftermarket deal then either Tim at ZZP or Josh at OTT, they can just set the P0420 to not set off the CEL. If you have a stock cat it wont hurt it unless they turn off COT too. If they do that then you will FUBAR the OEM Cat.
