Cobalt Headlight issue

it has the automatic lights but you can manually overide them and they still come on. does anyone no where the sensor is located

sensor is on the dash. it's the little bubble thing in front of steering wheel. you prob see it everyday and don't notice it. more then likely ur putting somthing on the sensor hence turning on the lights.

Thanks for the help. They just started working right wiht out anything being done just started the car again and they were fine.

The problem has got worse and now the lights won't go off at all any one had this problem before.

if the lights will not go off at all even when the switch is thrown, that means there is a short circuit to a power source somewhere in the positive wire any where between the head lights and the switch.

Seeing as it's getting a bit confusing help us out by answering the following.

1.) are the lights always on?
2.) do the lights turn off by themselves during bright days with the sun overhead?
3.) if you shine a bright light on the sensor for a bit do the lights go off?
4.) can you turn the lights off by turning the stalk towards you?

the lights will not turn off at all unless i take the fuses out thats is what im doing now so i can drive it without the battery going dead all the time. the switch does nothing and the sensor doesnt seem to either
