Heys sup I was actually going to upgrade very soon from my Halogen bulbs to a HID conversion Kit and i was thinking about 6000K So whats the big deal with Projector Housings??? do u really need them?? I was just planning on staying with my stock Head light housings because i like the look of them i just installed a new set of Euro headlight assemblys with black backgrounds and they look great I just want HID now but i dont like the ricey Projectors ?? If i stay with my stock housing will this be to Bright???!

Gen 1's in mine with ccfl halo conversion. But to answer 1 question which hasn't been yet, hid's in the stock housing will have the light going everywhere like a normal light, which is the setup that usually blinds people when your on the road at night. A projector housing will give you a nice cutoff about the height of the light and only put light on the ground where it's needed, not blinding people.

To give you an idea-

i've had pilot 8000k in stock painted housings for over a year. no glare, no tickets, no problems. gen 4's are the new projectors, they don't look bad if you ask me and I am very critical of that type of headlight. retrofitting is cool butttt imo those round projector thingies are ugly to begin with. my hid's work fine in stock housings.

IMO that's a very generic opinion.

but yet i agree with drift lol never had any problem with my stock housings, but your gonna get people saying one way is better than the other, just how it is.

Huh?

I'm dumb. How can you aim light that's in a reflector housing?

That screw you are talking about, does it move the bulb? Or something else?

that whole reflector housing moves up and down with the adjuster screw
thus aiming the beam

ya i kno on the factory style housing on any Headlight assemblys there are usaully one or two adjusting screws on them for adjustment..........on cobalts there is one screw ......however??? thats a good question I never thought about how this would work with HID conversions LOL well ya anyways if u wanna aim your stock lights make sure to park on a level surface about ten feet away............this procedure is also in your owners manual I guess well see I think ill be ordering them soon :)!! cant wait

By the way ?? did u have to open your housing to paint those refectors?? or did u buy em like that? However my aftermarket Housings have black back grounds so i dont think ll have a problem?? hmmm
