Well isn't the constant banging to the car pose a problem if they're not cut. I mean it's only about an inch or so.
I guess it just has to do with feeling comfortable with the ride. I like a comfortable. And when the time comes to get new struts/shocks I'll buy some used fe3 with low milage. Won't be expensive if used. Plus you have fe1 struts/shox so youll deffinitely find some in the for sale section gcobalt.

but stay the **** off stock shocks and struts. if you wanna sacrifice ride height and comfort and overall performance of your drop. dont cut, just send me your sportlines and i will give you a nice set of ss springs. since he is sitting at that height anyway
