ever since warrent ran out 3k miles ago, this car has been nothing but a problem. first the car goes thru 3 batterys in 2 months, then the rear shock decides that it dont need a bolt anymore and spits it out, now something is fucked up with my front axle..

i was cleaning my car and noticed this shit all over the inside and outside of my front passenger rim:

i turn the wheel so i can see what happend and find this :

damn that sucks, the only problem i got out of mine is there is something rolling around either around the e-break or on one of the seat tracks, everytime i stop and go i can hear that bitch rolling, its driving me up a fucking wall. hopefully its something i dropped down there and not a loose bolt

if it's clicking, yes. if not, it's rebuildable. it's barely worth it though. a single new axle is fairly cheap like 75-100 bucks. you'll spend around 30 rebuilding it but it's a pain in the balls to do. I see you have ksport coilovers those are pretty. just sayin.

yeah repacking is not even worth it. we never repack and replace boots at the shop. it comes out cheaper with a new axle considering the amount of labor. takes me half hour to an hour max to swap any cv axle.

why thank you sir! they were a pain in hte ass to get adjusted properly, but i love the **** out of them:hands: i still have yet to mess with the height on them

so i went to the dealer today, they said the Ksports jabbed into the boot and ripped it open, they said it would be 260 to replace he boot, and if it gets bad enought to where the joint messes up, 498 to replace the whole axle... FML

You could attempt to clean it up, But 2 things You don't know how much if any dirt is now mixed the gease=replace. Your gease is white, that means water has been there.

So remove the boot clean the joint, look for any visible damage, If your equipped, replace the boot pack the grease.

Otherwise buy a new one, there not very hard to install.

Go to your local NAPA, get a rebuilt axle for that side.
Should be about 50 bucks with your exchange.
You could put a boot on, lots of work and may be bad already
because the joint is contaminated. Replace it and be done.

those prices are ridiculous. I know for a fact you can get a moog axle for that thing for 90 bucks I have done a cv axle on an lt and we charged the customer 120 for the part and an hour labor. 4something? that dealer is trying to rip you off.

It is a great idea to replace the whole cv axle on that side.
Here is a NAPA ProLink page shot, I looked up an 06 2.2L ?
Depending on your local NAPA price between $50-$60 exchange.
This page only shows list price, because I have hid my price.

He did just the boot ?
You say its BLUE....
must be a split boot ?
Watch the blue split boots,
they will start leaking at the split
and be right back where you were before.
