How about a Log Book. Gas fills; plus Miles: Oil Changes, but Underline, any Maintenance, what etc, again Underline. Helps to see how far between Oil Changes. It is also a good record of When things were done. This is Not a Shoe Box of paper. If a problem comes up, this is may show what to look for First.

Selling the car, it shows how well it has been maintained. In my case, gave our car to the Daughter, and when she turned the car in for a Larger one; the dealer when shown this Log, gave her $500 with out batting an eye.

Just a reminder for those of you who forget to do random maintenance on your cars heres a general guideline sorry if its in the wrong location Im just getting used to the site.


1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal
2. Since your having trouble replace the following based on miles on your car *With each service or monthly
*Check engine oil
*Check coolant level
*Check brake and (clutch fluid if manual)
*Check windshield washer fluid
*Check tires for wear,bulges or uneven wear,foriegn bodies and pressure

3. 3000 miles or every 3 months
*change oil and oil filter every 3000

4. 6000 miles or every 6 months
*Check Wiper blades and replace if necessary
*Check the battery and clean terminals if corroded
*Check the cooling system and recharge if needed
*Rotate tires
*Check seatbelts for wear or tears and tug to ensure they will lock in wreck
*Check the brakes and or rotors and rums

5.15,000 miles--- or every 12 months
*Replace interior vent filter
*Check all underhood hoses
*Inspect suspension, steering and driveaxle boots
*Check exhaust
*Check fuel system
*Check engine drivebelts

6.30,000 miles--- or every 24 months
*Check and replace if necessary the air filter
*Service the cooling system (drain, flush and refill)
*Change the brake fluid

7. 100,000 miles
*Replace the transaxle fluid
*Replace the manual transaxle lubricant
*Replace the fuel filter
*Replace the sparl plugs
*Flush the Transmission
