it was originally going to be a race build twin turbo lsj, but he got screwed (raped without lube as he put it and is right!) and has chosen to go with LS2

you should really hit up his site, its DEF a good read, i believe the url is www.victory-red-ss.ca

If you build it, they will come. -Some really old dude

Really though, I cant wait to see this thing in person in the near future. I've been following it since the inception of the idea of the RWD LSJ-TT, and though that would have been a beautiful thing, it was not meant to be. If you get her built and start running her this year, I will do my best to come up for at least one race this upcoming season, I plan on getting stationed in Washington state soon.

Anywho keep us updated man, and let us know how things are going.

I was at the shop again and the expectation is that we will be running this season. In fact in preperation for racing, I am checking out drag-racing schools to take proper training so I can already have my license to run under 10 seconds.

If you are stationed in WA then you are closer to me and there is even a possibility that I can make it to Seattle for a track day.

I will be definitely be there. Part of this meet should possibly be at Mission Raceway as there is also a chance that this may coincide with the unveiling of the car (if no one objects).

:)

well no shit there are other models that use the SS badging (Impalas, Monte Carlos, Malibu) in addition to the Cobalt. Most of the pictures dont sow up on my computer so i couldn't tell what model he was dropping a LS2 in. Any way it is is a bad ass idea though, i cant wait to see the end result

mini update

I was at the shop the other day and we discovered something that no one has pointed out before. The new position of the front tires place them directly underneath the supports for the front fenders without enough clearance to allow for the car to 'drop' if lifting the wheels off of the ground, as well as when the front end squats at higher speeds on the race track.

There are aa couple of options that we are looking at, one of which is having a mold made of my stock front end and making a stock looking, one piece fiberglass front end. This not only solves the problem but will sure make it easier for me to work on the front section of the car. The cost is supposed to be fairly reasonable and I will retain the mold for future use.

In another development, we are looking at using the Wilson Manifold's Billet manifold for the LS2. It is a sweet piece and will withstand all of the boost we throw at it. I should have more info on both of these items when I get back from my course late next week. :)

It may very well turn out that July is closer to the time to unveil the car than I want. ;)
