    Pulling RR Brk Drums??

Thanks for the input guys ! But I just used a 3-claw puller and it busted them loose just fine and easily. Didn't want to risk beating the drums out-of-round.

    Front sway bar question

You'll reuse the swaybar brackets/retainers & bolt(s). Reuse the links. Do a search on Ebay for insulators. There's alot listed there. They vary according to the thickeness of the swaybar. If you take an insulator off of the bar it should have the corresponding number molded on it...

    Need higher top speed...

For better acceleration, think better air in/air out. At the ZZPerformance website they have the LE5 air inlet tube. It is just under $100 and eliminates the factory bladder style set-up. It will fit the LAP or L61 2.2l, no problem. Then get a K&N drop-in filter. There are nice stainless...

    2009 Cobalt

Get a Air Inlet system with a K&N filter. I used the ZZP 2.4 inlet pipe for $99 and a K&N. A header can be had on Ebay cheap, then a 2.25" stainless catback.

    Pulling RR Brk Drums??

Got a 2010 Cobalt with the 5 lug rr drums and they're already rusted to the hubs. Tried some heat and a heavy hammer with no success. Didn't want to get too heavy handed with it. Should I use a large 3-legged puller at this point?? What have you folks used? Thanks Dean

    intake

I did the ZZP 2.4 intake that eliminates the factory baffle/bladder. Added a K&N filter in the factory housing too. A 5 minute installation and pretty inexpensive. $50 for the filter, $99.99 + shipping for the tube. Not a big change but it should help when I get the header, 2.5" downpipe and...

    LS / LT vs LTZ

Newbie here too. Basically, what I found when I went out shopping was........... the LS was the entry level with crank windows and very limited options the LT was standard with a/c, pwr windows/locks and whatever else came in the "package". Haven't seen an LTZ yet. Personally, I'd...

    Specific LE5 Content????

Well, the "badges" were not the only unique items to set it apart from a normal LT. It also has a unique front and rear fascia, lower sill moulding/fascia and specific wheel/tire combo that is also identified as legit by the production label that is in the drivers door jamb. The front fascia...

    Specific LE5 Content????

I'm not challenging the accuracy of your info.........but sales literature isn't always right or up-to-date throughout a production year. What does one call it if it left the factory with "SS" badges on it??? I guess I'll research ALL the other RPO codes and see what else it is when I get...

    Specific LE5 Content????

Ok, I checked the data under the trunk mat and it IS a "2LT". So does that mean an "SS" came with a 2.2/LAP or is it still just a "Sport Coupe" wannabe? And that's OK with me, at least it's a factory "bridesmaid" kinda deal with a cool factory package.

    Specific LE5 Content????

This makes more sense. It's not an LE5 that's for sure, it has the LAP. Thanks

    Specific LE5 Content????

Ok, well I'll dig into this more in the future........... The car has "SS" style rear fascia and front fascia. Definitely different than the LT's I've seen with the mesh grill in the lower fascia and the foglamps in the front fascia. Maybe someone upgraded the car when it was in a little...

    Specific LE5 Content????

Hey, it's cool, I've fully accepted that it's not an LE5 and have moved on. Just want to decode the trim level to see if it is an SS, LT or LS. Or did they not even offer a normally aspirated 2.2 in an SS in 2010?? Thanks again.
  14. M

    Specific LE5 Content????

And added the lower rocker mouldings and emblems too. One last question..............What would the trim code(s) be for an "SS"?? There would have to be some kind of body trim code to add the SS specific content on the assembly line. Thanks!
  15. M

    Specific LE5 Content????

Nope. All it has is "Cobalt SS". I suspected, at first, that it was a rebadged LT that someone turned into a "wannabe SS". Then I saw that other normally aspirated Cobalt SS's were made and assumed it was one of those. Don't know what to think at this moment other than it's at least an LT...

    Specific LE5 Content????

Ok, yep, you're right. It's an LAP. Darn was hoping it was a the bigger motor. Still runs good though. Thanks for the reply.

please help have questions on ss motor

If it "idles like crap" and cleans up through the rest of the rpm band it could be as simple as a vacuum leak. Try choking off the air inlet while idling to see if it smoothes out for you. The IAC can only compensate so much.

ZZP What's Your Experience With Them???

It's a stainless one. Looks pretty nice! Good welds, thick plates, decent tubing thickness. Sweet deal for $110 delivered. Yeah, I'm "kitting" the exhaust system together now in a corner of my basement. Since there's 289 views and nothing negative, yet, I'll make that call to get a DP and...

    Specific LE5 Content????

Can anyone tell me, or direct me to, a list of what unique content was built into my 2010 Cobalt SS/LE5???? I know the LE5 is the normally aspirated 2.4 liter DOHC Ecotech motor....... but what else went into the car as a whole to make it unique from an LT??? Wheels? Yep, bigger 17"...

    Cobalt SS: GM has failed

Please don't slam me for my low posts #'s or for joining recently.............. I've driven GM vehicles for 34 years and just recently jumped into the "4 banger" fuel efficient niche of it. Correct me if I'm wrong, I'm sure some will, but didn't GM go into bankruptcy and literally have to...

ZZP What's Your Experience With Them???

I certainly hope so. Just ordered my LE5 air intake pipe to test the waters and see how that works out. Got what is similar, or same as, a shorty badmab header off of Ebay last week. I'm hoping the zzp 2.5 DP w/cat bolts up to it. Getting that next. Thanks!

ZZP What's Your Experience With Them???

Hi folks!! I've been briefly in contact with ZZ Performance concerning a full exhaust system and air inlet pipe. Can't seem to get any more info than what is listed on their website. Just wondering if any here have bought the 2.5" DP with cat. conv. and was it a complete "bolt-on"...

    2009 Chevrolet Cobalt 4-Door

When I was looking into my Cobalt, I fouund a website that listed the recalls for them. The only thing that comes to mind now was an issue with steering columns. The one you are looking into was later into the life of its production run. Could be a good thing. As with many cars, many cars are...

    Coolant Loss/WeirdSmell/ and Drain Question

Most HVAC systems have a drain for the condensation from when the a/c is running. IF the heater core leaks, like yours may be doing, coolant will find its way out that way. Or into the pass. compartment/carpet. If you have that "sweet" smell and a misty windshield, it's a broken heater core...

    Newby w/2010 LE5

Okay, Thanks for the reply!:waytogo: Yeah, there was an Ebay deal on a catback system that caught my eye but I've since realized that it probably looks too good to be real. ZZP looks interesting. Checked out their website. I want the intake pipe that hooks up to my "drop-in" K&N filter...
