my check engine light came on in my 2007 Coabalt LT 2.2L... i went to throw the OBD2 reader on it and all it says is "Link..." it wont read any codes...i checked all the fuses under the hood and under the dash and the only blown fuse was for the cig lighter...

any ideas?

no...the cig fuse powers the obd2 port so with it popped it wont read cause its not being powered.Replace the fuse and scan it again and it will read it so you know what your code is

If you use any accessory in the cig lighter remove it,sometimes when you put those in it will pop the fuse.

ya alot of times people will put them in kinda sideways and its just enough angle to where + and - connect and it will pop the fuse.So pull it out replace the fuse then try to scan it again.Should work,if not then its either your scanner or obd2 diagnostic port.I dont know where you live but if you have autozones they check it for free.

ok gents... i went through the whole car and ALL fuses are good...traced the wiring back from the OBD port back and no shorts/ bare wires..

plugged the OBDII in and ding "LINK..." i left it on that prompt for 5 minutes and it pops up "ERROR" so its doing the same thing it did before ARGH!!!!!
