Still the new guy.
I bought a 2009 Chevy Cobalt 46k and only one previous owner. 2 Door.
The drivers side head light is giving me issues.
It has condensation inside the plastic casing. Water is NOT leaking in, it can be 98 for weeks and there is water droplets inside the light casing.
I have looked it over and can't find a seal leak and since it has water droplets even on bright sunny days I can't understand where the moisture is coming from. The passenger head light is perfectly OK.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Gregory

Sounds like the headlamp needs to dry out. You can do that by pulling the bulb out of the headlight and leaving it in the sun.

a lot of us have had that issue. i got so much water in mine, that i actually poured it out of one of the light plug holes haha!

anyway, when i took it out, i added some rtv on the seam all the way across the top.
didn't really help lol

Put some butyl around the seal. The window butyl. Its black. Should seal up your light. Its a leak and most likely in the bottom joint where its common

Think that's what I used for mine. Afterwards you need to dry them out inside by leaving the bulbs out and the housing in the sun or heat for a while.

Thanks for all the great responses. We got 3 days coming without rain and I intend to do some work on the car, I will follow the advice given and let you know how it turns out. It may be a few days before I see results however.
Thanks everyone.

Results with issues

Got the water out here is what I did.
Removed the headlight assembly which was very easy.
Took into house and put a small cloth inside while leaving the tip hanging out of the hole. Using a butter knife I pushed the other tip of the cloth to the front of the lamp and tipped it upside to allow the cloth to soak up the water. Soaked up about 1/4th of the cloth. Then took my wifes hair dryer and aimed it in the holes for some time. Then left it face up in the 95 degree sun. Dried it up nicly.
Now the issue, in my removing of the assembly I discovered the entire wire harness sas croaded from the water. One connector, blinker, will no longer transfer power, I did troubleshoot and try new blubs. I have been looking for hours and can't find just the wire harness. If anyone knows where please assist. I have searched the main auction site.
Thanks.

I got some spare wiring harness at home. I'll snap a pic of the harness I have at home. They have the bulbs for blinker. The blue connector for the headlight halogen bulb. And the small light bulb for reflector. All that with the main black connector to connect to the actual engine bay harness. Is that what your looking for?

Yes that is exactally what I need. Is it ok to buy it from you via the forum. If so how much do you want + shipping? I can pay via PayPal. I am driving without a left front blinker. The corrosion on the harness from the water being in there so long is bad. The other day I got a check eng light and when I got the code readr on it it was an electrical error. I forget which, but reset and not came back since I cleaned and removed the offending bulb.
But please tell me how to convay my mailing address and I will.
Thanks.

He got the box opened. Harnesses were removed from box. I filed a claim with USPS. They literally opened it.
