my own version of the skyline/vette tail lights..

So... being the 20 year old i am with the idc attitude lol.. i removed my reverse lights and replaced them with red bulbs, and hooked the power wire to my tail-light power ...

Note: i plan on buying 2 small lights to hide under wher ethe license plate is for my reverse lights... but for right now i'll go w/o ... neways

I did the exact same xcept I added one 194 socket in each and wired it to running lights.So they are running/turn/stop lights

it isnt hard... i'll explain what i did on mine...

1) goto autozone, pop ur trunk, pull out one of ur reverse light bulbs... then go inside and goto the light bulbs, and find a yellow package with red bulbs in it that match the ones u have in ur hand... theyre like 3 bucks

2) take them home, put them in where ur reverse bulbs are..

3) follow the black wire cover down towards ur driver side tail light, and pull the wires out of it , cut the tape wraped around them, grab the 2 green wires and connect them to a seperate wire of your choice...

4) and then take that wire and connect it to the brown wire on ur driverside tail light... and then bodabing bodaboom your center lights light up ! ...

5) then rock on

194 sockets are the smaller bulbs like whats in the sidemarkers.I implanted those into the inner assemblys wired them to running so there the same brightness of the running lights,then the 921/912 bulbs were replaced with red ones(like you did) and those were cut and rewired to the turn/stop circuit to each side.

Well I did it the right way 3157's in the reverse light looks awesome, everything works, the nighttime light, the brake and the turn I'll post bid tonight

3157 bases will not fit in the reverse sockets.The reverse lights are 912/921/922 which have the same exact base as a 194(sidemarker bulb).3157 bulbs have a wedge base which are huge compared to 194/912/921/922 bases.They physically would not fit.I basically rewired my taillights and inner lights completely.Reverse lights will be accomplished via G5 rear conversion while keeping my decklid.

So you honed out the base and wired in new sockets?And you calling that the"right way" is really inaccurate.There are many "right ways".Watch out for melting the lenses as well since 3157 bulbs are alot brighter thus bring alot more heat.This is the exact reason why I used the 194/921 combo

it took a bit of modding, but i used the red 3157 LED bulbs just like i have in my brake lights, after a lot of sweat(working in the garage w/no AC, than walking out to my car in the driveway to wire this shit up in 100*f weather...sun blazin, i got it done all installed, wire loomed, and working...the bulb itself it pretty long u wont be able to twist the 3157 connector on, but you can do it another way, how i will leave a secret...but ill post some vidz once it gets dark, too much sun light right now, plus i have to get ready for a meet a few locals andout of towners have planned

both lights are made out of the same plastic if my other ones can take the light from the LED, than so can the reverse lights

ahh leds.I didnt want to use leds because of the crackhead blinker mod lol.And I didint want to wire in resisters.I molded in 194 sockets on the sides of the inners and rewired everything.Looks nice though just not a LED taillight fan

Hey FASTL61, does the bulb u used kinda look ... pinkish??... lol mine seems to have a pinkish tint to it compared to the tail-lights... hmmph
