well, i have had the entire subframe off one of these cars before and have a pretty good selection of tools and such, and it was probly a 4.5/10 difficulty on my scale

you have to take your endlinks off, drop the subframe as far as it will go, remove some plastic to do so, remove both tranny mounts from the subframe, then you have to get in and get the bolts off the mounts and then contort it out...reverse steps to get back in. It wasnt impossible, but def not on the easy list. and if you dont have a good jack and jack stands and a nice socket set, it will be pretty hard.

if this is your first big project on the car, i would be VERY careful cause if somethign isnt put back in right then you will have problems once you get out on the road...if you have worked with alot of the car before, then you should be good to go, you just need to know its going to be a couple hour long project haha

As in just buying the SS/SC endlinks and using them on your stock set up? I dont think you would notice much of a difference honestly.

i have an ss/tc suspension setup on my ion.. and need new endlinks.. so for the price of the stock ss/tc endlinks (22 bux a peice) it'd be better and being i have the rest of the setup it would complete everything

i just payed 70 bux for a set of endlinks but the stock units are no maintenance and cheaper the ss/tc setup is $58.81 shipped instead of 70 shipped..

If that set you bought for $70 is adjustable I'd just stick with those. It will likely give you the same if not better feel.

no they're not.. and a sealed end like stock endlinks will hold up better/ require less maintenance which is what i'm going for for the time being until i can get a job and buy powergrind's

Well then I'd say buy em if that's what your current needs are, although I severely dislike the stock FE1 endlinks dues to the rubber bushing. Perhaps the FE5 endlinks are a different configuration.

Where did you find the FE5 endlinks at? I don't see them listed at CED.

Never mind, found em on GMpartsDirect.com for 22.77 ea

the problem is alot of aftermarket companies use poly bushings or rubber bushings but at least the stock links are partially covered to keep shit out of the joint.. aftermarket ones usually aren't so it causes them to need to be greased and they brake down more often

i'd think the fe5's are good upgrades.. hell going from my fe2 shocks/struts the ss/tc setup was a huge difference so for 58 it's worth a shot hell aftermarket ones usually only last for like 1 or 2 years before getting clunky.. my stock fe2 links have lasted for just over 3 years lol .. so if the ss/tc ones last that long i'll be happy lol
